Ford GPW / Willys MB
Special NOS Firestone Sparkplug
for
WWII MB/GPW
JEEP Spare Parts Kit

This is the very elusive WW2 Jeep Spare Parts Kit spark plug.
This is a Rare and Original Sparkplug for your Wartime Jeep vehicle.
Individually wrapped in cosmoline, then individually boxed for export or
issue right into the jeep spare parts kit in the Jeep glovebox.
NOS from original WWII dated box.
Probably the hardest to find spare parts kit item.
Restoring a WW2 Jeep?
Then you really should have the rare Firestone F-40 Sparkplug in your spare parts & tool kit and 4 more actually in use on your engine.

Nice Firestone marked sparkplugs
Individual boxes are part numbered: #17-P-5365

See 1944 SNL G-503, Section 3, Vehicular Spare Parts, where it calls for: Plug, spark, w/gasket (Fed. St. No. 17-P-5365).

Spark Plugs are correctly stored in the Spare Parts Bag - A small bag sewn from light OD green cotton cloth. Closed at the top by a drawstring. Bag was stored in glove box on most jeeps or in rear tool storage box on the early slatgrill MB's without a glove compartment..

This rare Firestone Spark Plug is marked on the box with the Stock number: 17-P-5365. Look in SNL G-503 1944 Manual, section 3, Vehicular Spare Parts, Listed as:
Spark Plug, w/gasket (Fed. Stock No. 17-P-5365). Federal Stock number #17-P-5365 / Willys Part #A-538 / Ford Part #GPW-12405 / G503-03-40680
1940's N.O.S - Still covered in it's original Cosmoline / Wax Paper wrapping and in original Firestone Box for the Willys MB & Ford GPW jeep.

Very Rare Set of WWII JEEP
"On Vehicle Equipment"
NOS - "1942" Dated

WWII Jeep Driver's M-1 Dust Mask & Poncho

Combination Set

This is the rare Driver's Dust Mask.
Army issued to Drivers of jeeps, Dodges, GMC, Etc...
See Army Motors Article re: these in use in WWII.
Issued to drivers of jeeps, trucks, etc.  to keep out the choking road dust in long convoys,
from sand storms in N. Africa, ETO, PTO, CBI, etc. whenever the situation called for it.
Issued as personal equipment, but stored in glove box of jeep/MV till needed.
Rubber face mask, elastic straps, felt filters.
"Dust Respirator  M-1"    "US"
1942 Dated

M1 Vehicle Drivers Dust Mask is NOS in the box!
Poncho is NOS in the wrapper!

Both Items would be stored in the Jeep glove box.

Standard Issue Equipment & Accessories
Mask, Dust, M1 - In WW2 it was common to have a M-1 Dust Mask / Respirator stored in the glove box of the WWII jeep. It was not a gas mask, and only filtered out dust and dirt particles stirred up by other vehicles in the convoy. For use by vehicle and equipment operators.  See several back issues of Army Motors for several articles documenting their use in jeeps, dodges, etc. on missions.

One of the hardest to find glove box items for a WWII Jeep
Including manuals, Tools, and Spare Parts Kit items.
I thought I had sold out of these back in the 1990's @ $37.50
I just found a couple more

Cover, Protective, Individual - Ponchos were originally issued with gas masks, but when gas attacks never occurred the gas masks were tossed to the side of the road by the GI's. The ponchos continued to be carried and saved by the GI's. They were lightweight, compact, and were easily stored in the glove box of vehicles. They were great rain ponchos for when one didn't have time to put up the top (which wasn't much good at keeping water spray out anyway) or when the top had holes or was missing.

"US"     "M-1"   1942 "42"    marked Dust Mask
Used on early, mid, and late war jeeps & vehicles
