WWII Military License Plates
& License Plate Toppers
Here are photographs of the plates that were used by the Military in
WWII or patriotic license plate toppers in support of the US involvement
in World War Two. I do not own all these plates. I received help in the
form of photographs from several people listed at the bottom. I have
placed a WANTED notice next to the ones I don't have. Please see this List
of other WWII vintage plates I buy. I am looking for more of the ones
I collect.
Please email me if you have any I am missing or ones I collect.

MacArthur's 1941 - 1942 Four Star license plate
Many officers fighting to hold off the invasion of the Phillipines
by the Japanese brought symbols of their rank from Manila to the new HQ
of the American Army on Corregidor. And for MacArthur it was his four star
license plate, which was hung over the General's desk in the tunnel on
embattled Corregidor. <source>

Brian, Briefly during WW2 my father’s uncle was General Blamey’s driver
during the Middle East, Greece and PNG campaigns and in Melbourne, Australia.
When he left General Blamey’s staff in early 1944 he gave my father the
4 star plate he used on his Rolls Royce and Buick staff cars. The
Australian army never officially used star insignia during WW2 and General
Blamey often got General MacArthur’s hand-me-down staff cars and equipment.
(The car photo is MacArthur’s staff car in Brisbane)
